With over a decade of personal training experience, and a broad range of competitive cycling experience, Jason is excited to share how a consistent investment in the gym will support clients' short-term and long-term physical pursuits.
Along with this experience in the gym Jason possesses 20+ years of competitive cycling experience. Jason shares his knowledge through personal training sessions and the MTBdryland program. He has spent the last 9 years building and refining the MTBdryland program to provide the highest level training in a group setting.
Jason's love for riding started at an early age in Lakefield ,Ontario riding a BMX. Moving to Kelowna, BC in his teens he took up mountain biking and soon realized he enjoined the sense of freedom and adventure that two wheels (regardless of the bike type) could provide. He also found that competitive cycling was a great personal outlet providing opportunities to expand his knowledge of himself, of human physiology and an opportunity to explore the art of riding. As a result he has acquired a range of riding and competitive experience - from BMX, road racing to the spectrum of MTB disciplines (XCO, MXC, ultra, DH, Enduro). He’s raced the local CX series over the years. His current project is sharing his passion for all things 2-wheeled with his 4.5 year old and 2 month old sons. Lately he’s been playing on a BMX cruiser while his son rides the local pump tracks.
J's competitive experience includes:
On the MTB - BC Enduro Series(2014 Masters Champ), NSMB Fivers, MarathonXC (JABR, Ore Crusher, Test of Metal-PB3:21, High Cascade 100mi, BCBikeRace, SunshineCoaster), Slopestyle, Dirty Duo, BC Cup and Canada Cup DH and XC, North Shore Rippers.
On the CycloCross(CX) - VCXC and Lowermainland CX series.
On the Road Bike - Fondos (Whistler-PB3:51), EV Spring Series(Road), EV Tuesday Night World Champs (Crits), Randonnee (200k+).
Other - Coaching/Skill Building (Pedalheads, Escape Adventures, Endless Biking), Trail Building, Guiding (Kona-Bhutan). He has experience in team management (C-Team), marketing and product development (KHS' Lucky 7 and DH program).
He is a student of the art and beauty of riding and is always grateful for the opportunity to share insight and riding experiences.
If he owned 1 bike it would be a mid-travel 29er trail bike.
