Learn-to-Race Mountain Biking

This 8 week small group progression series (3 sessions per week) will prepare you with the skills, knowledge, and fitness to complete a marathon cross country mountain bike race. 


Skills session: Learn the skills you need to ride competently on the North Shore trails, improve your technique and advance the terrain you can cover.

Circuit Class: This cycling specific full body workout combines cardio, endurance and strength.  

Fitness Ride:  Progressive endurance rides that will increase your level of fitness, familiarize you with the North Shore trails, and prepare you to complete a marathon mountain bike race (1.5 - 2.5 hrs).


Program Goal: 2011 TBC Great training for your pick of cross country races (last year the intermediate group rocked the Test of Metal).


Only $500 (includes 3 sessions per week!)

Level 1 (Beginner)

Dates: April - June 2011 (8 weeks) - TBC

Skills: Mon @ 6:30-7:30pm; Circuit Class: Tues or Thurs @ 7-8pm; Fitness Ride: Sat @ 1pm (1.5 - 2.5hrs)


Level 2 (Intermediate)

Dates: April - June 2011 (8 weeks) - TBC

Skills: Wed @ 6:30-7:30pm; Circuit: Tues or Thurs @ 7-8pm; Fitness Ride: Sat @ 10:30am (1.5 - 2.5hrs)


Equipment required:

Mountain bike (26” wheels with disc brakes and front shock), helmet, cycling shorts, and cycling gloves.
